Where to tour Koh Samui and beyond on XMAX 300?

Leaving Chaweng at 6 a.m. the XMAX 300 covers the counterclockwise ring road to Nathon in 48 minutes of riding, holding 85 km/h through the coast, plantations and three climbs without the engine stretching - 65 minutes and purposeful on the NMAX, a warm-up here. The Nathon mountain road climbs 340 metres in 6 km to a 12 per cent pitch, and two-up it held 55 km/h with no CVT hunting while a Scoopy and Filano at the summit looked finished. It loads onto the Thong Sala ferry in the standard vehicle lane for a 70 km Koh Phangan day whose steeper gradients only the XMAX or a motorbike shrugs off. The hard-packed Laem Sor cape track, with two sandy sections, it takes at 35 to 40 km/h on its 150-series tyre, and it carries two-night luggage with no handling change. My calibration route - Chaweng, Choeng Mon, Nathon, mountain road, Laem Sor, Lamai - runs 94 km in 2h35, a loop no other scooter finishes cleanly.
